Harry Who? ...

You know I'm really, really glad that I never took up reading JK. Rowling's HP series. If I had I would be now waiting (in the heat) at my nearest book store to get the new bok. No way! *lol*

Okay here are the sketches ... still not ready with my chemise and my gown (reminder to oneself Need.to.cut.the.fabric!) but once they are finished I will ask Ginny or Arngard if they can take pictures.

(don't mind the hand writing, I know it is appalling)

As I want to be at the Jane Austen Festival on Sept. 17th to 18th (staying Friday night to Monday morning) I have to put together three complete outfits:
walking dress (long sleeved dress w/pelisse/Spencer & bonnet)
afternoon dress (half length sleeves & Indian shawl)
ball gown (short sleeves, jewellery & shawl)
2 reticules (1 brown walking dress/1 white/light blue for evening gown)
1 pair of brown kit gloves
1 pair of white elbow length kit gloves

To Sew list
walking dress (green dress)
black spencer
bonnet (fitting and basting top to bottom)
brown kit gloves
brown reticule

white/blue reticule
chemise
evening gown
light blue chiffon shawl

What I bought:
Indian Cinnamon coloured Jamavar wool shawl
ext_50: Amrita Rao (Goblet Of Fire)

I'm a Harry Potter fan, but no way in hell I'd line up for the books. I'm lazy. I just get it delivered to my house ;)

Well this is good, I do that with my Nora Roberts/JD Robb books. And I'm waiting for a new Jennifer Crusie book as well, but that one is still in the pipeline.

OMG... Una! These outfits are to die for, especially the Robe à la Francaise. That material, those colours! They're unbelievably beautiful! I can't wait to see photos. Please don't forget!

:)
The Robe à la Francaise will be the most challenging and most expoensive gown yet I made. It is completely done from Dupionsilk and the blue silk is embroidered. As soon as it is finished I will post photos :) Atm I'm cutting the cloth for the corsett that will go with the gown. I'll use a cut that incorporates Renaissance and Baroque corsetts so I can use it for more than one gown in different centuries without loosing the look of one particular gown.

I'm so jealous of your talent. I've never had the patience for sewing but always wish I'd learned to sew when I see what people like yourself can do. The embroidered blue silk is absolutely gorgeous... I even called hubby over to the computer to show him. He didn't seem to have the same level of appreciation though! LOL! ;)

Those are some great sketches!

I'm totally digging the last outfit. Sometimes I really wish I'd get involved in a RPGish thing like I do only later in history. I'm a big fan of the 17th and 18th century fashions and sadly, that's a bit past the mideival period, lol. That last bolt of fabric looks amazing as well. I'm jealous. I know exactly what I'd use it for :)

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. But one of the upsides of being really lazy is that you're actually really patient too usually and well, it's going to be a month or two before I actually get around to getting the book. I usually like to wait for the paperbacks. They're easier to read and $10 cheaper. :)
