Health is a highly rated commodity

Trimester check-up

Had to be at the hospital at 08:30 AM with no breakfast.
First, they took gallons of blood, then I had to drink that awful concoction again so the x-ray shows up beautifully. Had to wait an hour (still no breakfast) so the contrast liquid had time to slosh round my system. Off to the x-ray room (I bet you I am beginning to glow in the dark soon).
Afterwards off to mammography where they abused my breasts again. (why can't they just warm the contraptions up first? And why do they have to squeeze like mad??) Then clothes on again, and back to Mr. Doctor Superstar :s My bones were checked, still having osteoporosis and then I had a break of two hours and still no food but at least a small bottle of water.
Then spent two hours in the CT (CAT scan tube). Another break and to the practical doc because of my stomach pains. Ultra-sound of my lower torso, saying hello to my two kidneys on the right side (which is unusual and they are giving me trouble since last year, too), then my stomach. At 15:00 PM my doctor had all the results and we talked about that for over an hour...
Well to make a long story short, I have still another minor knot in my left breast which I have to take medication for (at least aural and not via an IV), and additionally, I have a little bloody ulcer :s Soooooo, I need to take medication for that as well :s

Isn't life just wonderful??? But at least I'm healthy (my definition anyway) ... as long as I can still work, live at home and move around without too much pain, I'm healthy, though I wish I had ONE freaking day where there is no pain at all.

The ulcer... would that be from the stress of everything?

*big big hugs* Take care of you, sweetie. :)

Bonjour Una,

I'm so sorry that you have some health problems. Is that ulcer could come from the stress of all you've been through? I know that when you are really stressed out, your stomach is hurting you so badly.

Take good care of you, honey. Take all of your medications and try to relax and calm down. Promise me you will take good care of you, sweetie, will you?

**HUGS**

Marie

Una, you're what us Aussies would call a battler...and good on you for that. Lots of *hugs* coming your way, love.

Thank you all for your concern and best wishes. :)

I had to take a day off yesterday, as the whole prodding and needling drains me a lot. The ulcer was somehow expected, I had too much stress the last couple of weeks both on- and off-line and me all of a sudden channeling Zhaan, and me not letting off steam, I guess that was too much. I get medicine for the ulcer and have to stick to a special diet (good thing I'm a vegetarian anyway :)) though I have to lay off the salsa and curries *sniffle*

Lady, now this is an expression I like :) I always thought lifer was too passive and battler definitely is more action orientated :) and more like me.

Again, thank you for your concern ... I'll get through ... it is just so annoying from time to time :D
