Now this is a tough one ... I have one long time favourite quote as well a fairly recent one (4 yrs now) ... well I will share both :P
When I was a teenager and attending junior high school I was not only a Goth - I was a Gothic geek or Geeky Goth. An outsider who looked different, smelled different (Patchouli anyone??) and even thought different. Thanks to my great-grandparents and the musical education/inspiration I got from them, I liked a wide range of music ... not only the Gothic music of that time but also very different stuff like Jacques Brell or Leonard Cohen ...
1.
Ah the dreamers ride against the men of action
Oh see the men of action falling back
This quote turned up everywhere on my stuff ... books ... notebooks ... my school bag ...
everywhere. It's from Leonard Cohen's song The Traitor. I love(d) it and it shows
a side of me that is not always apparent ... the dreaming optimist.
2.
yozora no mukou ni wa,
ashita ga mou matteiru
Beyond the night sky, tomorrow awaits. My favourite quote from a SMAP song ... I love the
imagery of this line. So much hope, desire and also sadness in just two lines. Hope for a
better future, desire to experience something new but also the sadness that this particular
day has to end and that we are leaving everything that is familiar behind to face something
new.
