According to this on AllKPop, the Korean F4 of Boys Over Flowers attend SMAPxSMAP in the next couple of weeks. They were seen at the Japanese airport and will probably be filming for SxS in the next few days.

Hyun Joong & Kim Joon & Kim Bum PLUS my favourite SMAPPUS? OMG! That is even more epic than SMAPxDBSK :)

I have been living in Alternative Universe land since ep19 anyway :)

JH has kidnapped JD to Vegas with the help of YJ and Woo bin (Ga Eul tagged along as well) and there JD finally consents to her feelings and explains that a) the first love is your true love and b) that friendship is love (she watched too many times Kuch Kuch Hota Hai on GE's insistence *grin*).
While JD and JH spent their honeymoon on Mauii, WB and GE get closer and YJ doesn't like it AT ALL. Seeing what a pathetic jealous idiot his friend has become, WB agrees to help GE get her man and succeeds.

Meanwhile JP has married JK because he found himself out of friends who might have broken his arm or leg or just told him what a complete waste of a human being he is and monkey and backbone-lacking asshole are living relatively ever happily after.

Evil Dragon is delighted but finds out later that JK'S family is as poor as church mice and that it was all a scam, the Shin-Hwa Corp. loosing all its assets including Mama Darth' cool outfits. Absent - I have been in a coma and declared dead by m crazy wife -Daddy Goo or Kang or whatever wakes miraculously up from coma, takes over what is left of Shin-Hwa and happily starts building his empire again.

JD's family find their life at the seaside so exciting and fullfilling they never return to Seoul, in fact they never turn up anywhere any more. It is rumoured JD's dad borrowed money AGAIN from a loan shark and with the agreement of JD and her little brother, WB *took care of it* (the loan shark is a sub from his organization). Everyone is happy, even JD's dad's brother.

The series ends with the scene of Woo Bin staring into the sunset, having become the meanest and toughest Yakuza boss in the world (with tats and scars included) whose friends' children call him Unka Wooby. "Almost Paradise" playing in the background.

Hehehehehehe :D

... even with all the good intentions.

Yoon Ji Ryun is the screenwriter of BOF. While s/he had good intentions, making BOF an adaption so uniquely Korean, s/he could not leave the original story line enough to make it even more Korean than anything.

- making Jandi into a mopping wimp
Makino's best feature, the reason why we cheer her on, is her will power and her strength. These are also the reasons why both Domyoujii and Rui fall for her. Yoon Ji Ryun makes her into a weeping, incapable, whiney wimp. NOT GOOD!!!

- the BFF are more of an OTP than the OTP
While the good relationship between Makino and Rui is canon, Yoon Ji Ryun overdoes it. S/he even make them do things only the real OTP in Korean dramas do. Either stop it and cling to the original story line or go all out and CHANGE THE FRELLING ENDING!!!

- Jun Pyo doesn't show any signs of progress
Domyouji became more human in the progress of the manga/Japanese/Taiwanese adaptions. By this time he is overcome with fear of ever loosing the only thing that makes him more human and into a better human being and he already plots how to get back at his mother. In the Korean version he romps around with his fiancee, is obnoxious as ever and shows that the hard times his supposed OTP is going through is more a matter of mocking and *toughening up the pampered heir*. Gee, dude, your OTP lost everything because of you, at least have the decency to feed her instead of eating all the ramen, she and her little bro cooked and don't mock her living conditions.

- Ramdomness and out of the blue shouting thy name is BOF
While we do not get to know why of all ppl Akira is part of the F4 (his dad probably wanted to polish him up and not have a dumbass heir as in My Boss, My Hero), Akira is so well-integrated into the F4 and never doubts his friends' loyalty. Yoon Ji Ryun turned Prince Song into a shouting, suicidal whimp in seconds. Why I appreciate the reaction to fan demand for more backstory/screentime of Prince Song, I do not appreciate the execution. That scene with Woo bin and Ji Young was like an extra added tag line of a mediocrely written fan fic.

- Ji Young fucking up his hand and thus his future
Soujirou is a badass, we know this BUT he is so much the heir of his family he would never actively seek a discontinuation of it. While he tries to show his disinterest he loves what he does, whether as tea ceremony master in the original story line, or as pottery master in this adaption. It is what defines him and is much stronger than any woobiness he still feels about his lost first love or his asshole father. Yoon Ji Ryun scripting here sucked big time and destroyed a character with unnecessary drama reeking of badly written teenage fan fic.

- Ga Eul and Ji Young are doomed
While Yoon Ji Ryun swans along the original story line with this one, he unnecassarily makes Soujirou much crueller than he actually is. Because he knows Yuki is essentially a good girl, he tries to let her down gently but sternly. Not because he wants to teach her a lesson or because he is so bitter about his first love, but because he likes her ... a lot, and knows that in a different setting, they might have a chance at love. But be as it may, Soujirou knows he is too messed up to ever be worthy of Yuki's love. In the Korean adaption Ji Young is a bastard who plays with Ga Eul to the point of cruelty. While Soujirou tries to protect, here he just shows off that he could get anyone into bed if he wanted.

While I fell for the Korean adaption in the first couple of episodes, since ep11 I have been falling out of it just as well. The first changes were appreciated, but the wimpy-nation of several characters makes me sick because I know the story line and while I do not like several story lines in the original manga, I now can appreciate them in the Japanese and Taiwanese adaptions.

I thought I would never say this but I think I'll give Meteor Garden and Hanadan another try. After BOF nothing can really surprise/disgust/annoy me anymore.

Omo! Omo! They are really messing up the original story. If it weren't for Woo Bin and his woobie-ness as well a the cuteness that is Jin Hoon, I don't think I would watch BOF anymore ... and next week there is this stupid story line of Jandi/Makino working as a maid. PUHLEESE!!! In the Japanese version I already hated that ...

And Jandi falling for that stupid Jun Pyo again. He is so obnoxious and he and Jaekyung are so well matched. Here Jandi has a guy who is nice, gentle, rich and cares so deeply for her that he is thinking of proposing. On the other hand, there is Jun Pyo, who not only caused her to get bullied and mobbed, he is the cause she can't swim anymore, he has made her cry more than possible, his mother caused her family to loose their lifelihood, and dammit he is an A+ asshole.

To get the bad aftertaste out, I think I will re-watch Antique Bakery.

Why Ji-hoo is a better bet for Jandi ...

- He is not on rebound anymore and LOVES her
- He loves her so much, he would be willing to give her up if she was happier with Jun Pyo (and not because jun Pyo is his BFF)
- Even Ji Hoo's grandfather likes her (FAMILY APPROVAL)
- Ji Hoo makes her smile and happy, even when she has nothing to be happy about
- He cuts her food so she won't have to strain her injured shoulder (AWWW)
- He looks hot in a suit
- They actually TALK
- He gives her comfort and stability in life.
- Ji Hoo might not be as tall as Jun Pyo but he has the right size, no strained necks from looking up or awkward bending down.
- He protects her.

And reason no. 11 ...
- He might not be as filthy rich as Jun Pyo but his house is awesome ... that has more GLASS walls than anything :) That is why Ji-hoo knows how to clean :D

No matter what happens ... these two will be my eternal OTP. I don't care for Jun Pyo. At first I didn't like him because he ws a mindless bully, who doesn't care if he rides a horse to death to reach his goal, and his single-mindedness in his love to Jandi never appealled to me. So what that you think you love her, if a girl kicks you in the face she doesn't love you. Jandi has always suffered due to Jun Pyo's selfishness. She faced more heart-ache than necessary for her love.

YOU IDIOT ASSHOLE OF EPIC PROPORTIONS ... Jun Pyo is like a kid who got his new toy and abandons it now ...JanDi go for Ji Hoo he is the most awesomest version of Rui yet!!!

And that sad sad business with her shoulder ... whimpers.

Poor JanDi but I knew this was about to happen ... well something like this .. but while in the other versions you still feel the pain and angst in Domyouji, here there was directly ignoring JanDi/Makino. F3 is so awesome ..and Woo Bin saaying he is not F4 anymore .. yup DragonLady did a good job.

Prince Song? Ooooohh Woo Bin :) And those black leather gloves :D

Hang on ... this is not Macao ... The Venetian??? They are in VEGAS???? Okay, there is a Venetian in Macau - thanks [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714 :)

I'm really disappointed of Hanadan Korea right now. WHile ep 12 redeemed itself a little bit (fanservice anyone), I hated the portrayal of JanDi in ep11. Jesus, gal, where's your spunk??

I have the foreboding feeling that the following eps will be a lot of junk ... just like in any other Korean dorama. Why oh why can't the Koreans tell a story with a proper beginning, middle and end? Why is always the beginning and the end okay, but the middle stretch is sooooooooooo boring and downright wrong?

SPOILER for those who haven't seen ep12 yet:
And Madame Kang having a humane touch? Sorry, don't buy it. A dragon lady like her doesn't get all of a sudden soft because hubby is sick. No frelling way.

I'm already to the point where I want to stop watching the series. That is why I don't watch Korean doramas esp. romances so much :s
