Here is a very good recap of what went on about the whole Lennox issue. Lennox was a pit bull/lab mix who had never bitten human or animal. He was seized by the Belfast City Council and murdered in the middle of July after a long legal battle and several offers of re-locating him away from Belfast and the UK.
Unanswered questions about Lennox 'Examiner'

You know ... the more I think of it the more I get disgusted with the world. Killing an animal just because it belongs to a specific breed ... that sure harks back to Hitler's terror regime and the holocaust of millions of Jews. It is racism just the same, only slightly in a different form.

As the Save Lennox campaign is changing gears to ban all BSL (Breed Specific List) in the UK and world-wide, several articles have unearthed the fact that Alexandra 'Sandie' Lightfoot, the dog warden who seized Lennox and also testified in court that in fact Lennox was a dangerous dog and she was afraid of him, has been promoted by the BCC and holds now a more powerful position in the county Antrim and has doubled her salary. Op-Ed: Dog warden who testified against Lennox the dog gets a promotion by Elizabeth Batt

Perjury sure pays. Paid with money from the UK tax payer. There is photographic and video evidence where Lightfoot is seen cuddling Lennox. During his behaviourial assessment where she keeps Lennox on a leash she is SITTING. Any common dog owner let alone dog handler and dog trainer will tell you that if you are afraid of a dog DON'T SIT DOWN. If the dog is as dangerous as you claim it is much easier for him to go for your jugular and face if you sit down. She moves her face to his head and snout. If he is dangerous anyone with common sense wouldn't come near his fangs.

HELLO? Most dangerous dog she has ever come across???? And she lets him give her puppy kisses? Yeah sure, Lightfoot. I hope karma will hit you on the ass!

A video where one of the behavioural experts tests Lennox. He shows no signs of aggressive behaviour. He is inquisitive, gentle and behaves like a dog who enjoys ppl around him. If this test was performed on any of my dogs, due to their former lives they would certainly see some of the things done in the video, like snout pushing, direct gaze confrontation etc. as an aggressive act towards them and would bark and act accordingly. They would never pass such a test (if done by a stranger mind. I can do it, His HUbbiness™ can do it and any stranger can do IF we are present - if we aren't it is another whole ball game). So Lennox was a class A+ student, and they killed him just because the way he looks.

As for Lightfoot, a lowlife like her will never feel any remorse of what she has done. In fact, I suspect she feels that she has every right to be promoted. After all, she had to spend a year, year and a half with a dangerous dog whose health deteriorated in her professional care.

People of Antrim, you better hide your pets, they might end up like Lennox.

Since Thursday we have a new house guest ... Mihal, a 4 yrs. old rough coated Podengo Portugues. All his life he was chained and neglected. He is shy, gentle and a beautiful soul. I cannot understand how anyone would be so cruel to chain him and then forget to feed him.

He is painfully under weight, even for a Spanish hunting dog, and he doesn't know anything other than the things he has learned until now since he has been released from the chain. He is a such a sweet boy.

Some of you might have heard about the two year on-going legal battle of a Northern Ireland family and their dog Lennox. Lennox was a cross between a Lab and a pit bull type dog. As a pup he looked more like a Lab but when he grew his head shape was that of a pitbull with Labby ears and snout. He was neutered, chipped and registered and trained as a therapy dog for the disabled little daughter of the family with the local Belfast City Council and for five years he got his official license from them. According to the law of NI Pitbull type dogs are banned. Lennox was DNA tested and while there is a bull terrier in there, he was not labeled as Pit bull type dog, as he had so much of a Labrador in him-

Until one day Dog wardens from the BCC turned up and after measuring him with a sewing tape measure, seized the dog and claimed him to be a dangerous animal under the BSL (Breed Specific List). Lennox was brought to an undisclosed place where photographic evidence showed that he was held in a small stable, sitting in his own feces. The dog warden who had claimed him was photographed cuddling Lennox who even showed no signs of dangerous behaviour in his new altered living conditions, but his health deteriorated with his coat missing in large portions on his rump and skin infections all over his face.
When a court decision arrived whether Lennox could be rehabilitated and returned to the family or re-homed instead of put to death, said dog warden, who can be seen cuddling Lennox in photos, lied in court saying: 'Lennox is dangerous, I'm afraid of him and he is a risk to the public's safety'.
The Belfast City Council ignored all pleas of re-homing and placing Lennox with internationally known dog trainers. Victoria Sitwell of It's Me or the Dog even offered to adopt him but to no avail. (Save Lennox)

Today, this morning, Lennox was put to death. There is nothing humane in this situation, despite what the BCC claims.

The original BCC statement from their website )

A danger to public safety? You better start putting yourself out of office, Belfast City Council. Because YOU are a safety risk! Who will be next on your BSL? Dogs with certain sized fangs? Or a dog peeing on the street corner?
While we are at it, why not euthanize humans? After all, WE potentially kill. Why not kill all children of murderers ... because hey, they share the same DNA (= read breed/race) and could turn on the public one day in the unforeseeable future. BCC, you showed that fascist/racist thinking never died out after Hitler's death.

Sweet, sweet Lennox. At least you are not in the hands of some fascist, senseless human monsters anymore, that only see rules and laws but not compassion and justice.
Hopefully, when time comes, all these liars will have to answer for themselves.

Remember, punish the deed not the breed!!!

You know I'm really getting more and more angry and radical concerning animal rights.
Today I read an article where yet another woman who tried to help a dog that was chained in a backyard without food, water or shelter and suffering from heat stroke was arrested for 'stealing' the dog after she called the police, SPCA, the owners and what not. No one wanted to help and so she rushed the dog to a vet where they trued to fight the heat stroke but to no avail. Now she is facing charges and police told her if she keeps mumm about the whole incident and doesn't go to the press, the charges will be dropped. HA! When the dog died in her arms, she went public though news reporters are not touching the story and so she posted it on her facebook account.

Why is it that you can be charged with non-assistance of a person in danger when a human is suffering, but get charged for stealing if you see an animal in distress and the owners don't fucking care??? US Laws are absolutely ludicrous. The stealing offense is still viable in a lot of states in the US and ppl are not helping strays or run-away animals because they fear the repercussions.

And then there is the city council of Belfast who seized a dog just because it is a pitbull. He has been with the family since he was a pup, loves all and everyone and instead of seeing their fault, they pressured the pound team where Lennox is staying into telling the court he is a dangerous dog ad that they are afraid of him despite the fact of photographic evidence where said pound staff is seen cuddling Lennox.

I could rant like a mad woman when I read this. It's just like fighting wind mills :(

Remember Sammy, our zombie dog?
Well after she had to be sheared completely due to demodex, her coat slowly but surely came back and better than ever. Usually in the evening we go for a walk with the rest of the pack and Sammy has to stay in the garden where she howls and whines like something awful is happening to her. Yesterday was the same and we were halfway on our tour when suddenly there was this little brown-black dog running full speed after us.
I said, Oh no this is Sammy, and His Hubbiness™ said, no way ... but yes it was Sammy. What now? She doesn't wear either harness or collar and we cannot touch her (even if we would catch her).
She surprised and amazed us by coming up to us, licking Careto's snout and taking the walk with us.

So after a less than peaceful night where we discussed how to commence now, we decided that we will take her on walks with us from now on when we go out at the back of the garden. If she wanted to run away, she would have yesterday; so today, we went out on the fields and she amazed us with running along with us and returning with us safely after almost an hour.

moment of truth ... she gets out of our garden gate
